Greek Drama

One particular episode in the never- ending crisis in Greece has got stuck in my mind and refuses to go way.
It is  the image of Evangelos Venizelos, who was the Finance Minister in Pasok until recently;the event in question took place a good few weeks ago.
The Finance Minister was asked by a reporter, why Greece, after receiving a massive bailout.was yet deeper in recession.
His reply:"The austerity measures we introduced were so severe, it meant people were unable to give us the money we wanted".
The reporter then asked:"What can be done about that?"
Venizelos made this unbelievable reply:"We are going to have more austerity measures."
I have paraphrased the above exchange.
By the way, one definition of insanity is doing the same things over again ,hoping for different results.
So let's get this straight.Let's apply this logic, to, say, a farmer whose crop failed because of a drought.Imagine him telling a friend that his crop failed because of a lack of rain, and that he now hopes for a further drought as this should solve the problem.
This is obviously complete madness.
The Financial Times announced at the end of last year that Evangelos Venizelos, was in their opinion, the worst Finance Minister of the year
It is wonderful to read a main stream paper  actually say something, for once, that is true.
And it is this guy who wants to be the next leader of Pasok!
According to opinion polls published recently,13.5% of voters want to vote for Pasok in the next election in late April, early May 2012.(23% want to vote for New Democracy).Unbelievable really!
This election is a total farce, as both these parties are simply carrying out orders from their masters in Europe.
Democracy does not exist in Greece.
I find it almost impossible to believe how anyone would vote for anyone as  both these parties have agreed  to do the same things.
Were these opinion polls conducted in Lunatic Asylums?
Or are they just complete lies?
It is claimed that Evangelos is a bully and shouts down anyone who disagrees with him.
It is interesting to note that this guy gave the M.P's the law that means Greek M.P's are  practically immune from prosecution for cases of Political corruption.
So, all in all, just another member of the corrupt evil Elite who rule (and ruin) our lives.
For the record I don't support  or believe in any Political parties, whether it is left, right, middle or what have you.
Their track records prove that they are all absolutely beyond useless, and very bad for our health, and disastrous for our pockets.
My song"No Smoking" on this blog gives my views on this.
