On top of all the issues mentioned in the previous chapter,you have that strange invention-the T.V.
This is what you are expected to watch when you are not in the institutions( Schools, Colleges etc);the content on this medium has slowly, but persistently moulded the way you are.
Some claim the T.V. is the greatest Hypnotist in the World.
Ever wondered why the news (in every country as far as I know) is delivered in the same way?
A man or a woman is sitting at a desk,staring directly into your eyes,and talking in a slow,calm voice,just like a Hypnotist.
Then you have the soaps,like Eastenders.
People,often without being aware of it,actually use lines from the soap in their daily life.And how strangely addictive they can be.People will not miss one episode of their favourite serial,and if they are prevented from watching it, they become very upset.Hey, I must have my dose of brainwashing today so turn on the T.V !
If you want a full frontal larger than life dose of programming,and a full attack on your senses,you can go to a building that nearly every town has,and watch, in glorious colour and deafening surround sound that vibrates through your body,role models for you to imitate,and absorb hidden and subliminal messages,that will control your behaviour
Or, prepare yourself for the future, by experiencing events that are planned in the future, by seeing them happen in films first. This way you become, to some degree ,de-sensitized when the actual event happens.
A lot of film scripts, uncannily, seem to happen a few years, or even decades later.Think of all those disaster movies a good few years ago; now the very same disasters these films depicted,are taking place all around us!
There is a word for all this:it's called Brain- washing.
The definition of Brain-washing is as follows:
A method of systematically changing attitudes and altering beliefs;
a method of controlled systematic indoctrination,especially one based on repetition or confusion.
This is just what we, as a species,have been subjected to since we were children.
If you like, we have been conned!
By whom?
Here's the rub; not only by ourselves, not only by the way Society is run, but on top of this, you have a group of people, who some call the Elite who are running the show.
They have been running it for some time,and they want the great mass of us to do their bidding.
It's a bit like, how we generally treat animals on a farm- that is how we are treated by the Elite.
David Icke suggests that they are not, in fact, human, but are shape-shifting lizards who come from another dimension.
Sounds pretty far out, doesn't it?I mean, it's right outside our normal perception of things; shape shifting-oh come on, you might well say.I know I did when I first heard it. I thought it sounded utterly crazy.
But wait a minute.
Could he be right?
People once believed that the World was flat,and was the centre of the Universe; also that the Earth was increasing in size,and that the Universe was unchanging..
All these ideas were wrong.
If anyone, in the old days, said that the World was round,they were considered nuts.And this is just how Mr.Icke's theories are considered by the main stream media.
When I first heard, as I wrote above,about the lizard connection, I thought it was ludicrous.
But after reading that almost everything else D.Icke had said had come true, I couldn't help but wonder if, just possibly, the lizards are also true,as weird as that may sound.I'd like to think I've got an open mind on the subject.
John Locke had a good take on this when he stated that new opinions are always suspected,and usually opposed,without any other reason, but because they are not already common.
