Friday Evening Rant ( 3)

So yet another week passes. Another week of almost complete insanity in the Greek political world.
Surely , by now, the two wise men who act as the puppets of foreign powers, must realize that the game of
" We are on the road to recovery " just does not wash, as we, the people, can see , oh too well, that we are on the road to ruin.

Do you really believe that these two power hungry, ego worshipers give a fig about the Greek people ? If they did, they would have never inflicted the most savage austerity measures inflicted on any country in the last 60 years.

This week was meant to be the week when the unions all turned against the government. How strange then , that it turns into a fight between left and right, after the awful murder by a member of The Golden Dawn.

Was this set up ? Was it a black ops ?

It is so convenient for the government How they love that old  ' Divide And Rule '.And do you think they would care about a loss of a life ? No way, lots of digits on a computer screen with dollar or euro signs on them, is their God , and they will worship no other image. Their loyalty to their God is fixed and eternal.

Suddenly the army slides into the picture, strangely  at this particular time, to sort of ramp up the left and right agenda, with memories of the Junta being brought back to life.

A group calling itself. ' The Special Forces Reserve Union'  have a blog, and in this blog, they recently wrote that they want to government to resign, and they want the suspension of all laws relating to the troika memorandum. together with the expulsion of all illegal immigrants.

It said such an obvious truth, that no main stream media, to my knowledge, ever, to their shame ,dared write.

To quote: ' It demands the resignation of the government because it has failed in its duty to provide --

Health, Education, Justice and Security. ( strange they didn't mention jobs ) as it is obliged to do so under article 22 of the Constitution. The providing of jobs is also included in the Constitution..

Do you remember all those ' No More Austerity Measures ' day after day in the Greek media.a couple of weeks ago? . Well, guess what , that was a lie. I hope you're not surprised..

The governments previous announcements that it will impose no new taxes are likely to remain on paper
as the draft budget for 2014 forsees increasing direct taxes by 11.5 %

Taken as a whole, this will mean that taxpayers will end up paying about 3, 400 euros in taxes on average next year.

The tax free allowance of 5,000 euros will be replaced by a lower amount of 2,100 euros for those with an income of less than 21, 000 euros.

Oh yes, and the self- employed will lose the 5,000 tax free allowance.

As an aside, I was thinking today about the sudden abrupt decline in Pasok's popularity. Papandreou introduced  the first austerity measures and that was it, they were finished, How come then, that when New Democracy gets in power and brings in far worse austerity measures, that they are still popular ? *

I suspect though that things are reaching a boiling point in Greece, and it's just a matter of time before.......

* Yes I know you've got Pasok up there as well, but I think everyone knows this show is being run by
New Democracy.
