Surfers Catches Of The Day.

Crawley Borough Council, in England, have issued orders to remove park benches from underneath trees.This is a  Health and Safety ruling, just in case a branch might fall on someone'e head .

Next, no doubt, they will cut all trees down , in case high winds might blow them over, and cause someone an injury.

2.Tens of thousands of fish and seagulls have washed up dead on one of  the shores of the World's largest lakes. Scientists are at a loss to explain why.The lifeless bodies were discovered along a 25 mile stretch of Canadian shoreline by lake Eerie, which stretches between  Canada and the U.S.A.

3. In 1962 in Tanganyika ( now Tanzania) an outbreak of contagious laughter began.
An isolated fit of laughter in a group of 12 to 18 year old schoolgirls rapidly rose to epidemic proportions.
Like the flu', the laughter epidemic was so severe that 14 schools were shut. It affected about 1000 people and lasted  two and a half years.

6.Bing drinking among pensioners has reached epidemic proportions in the U.K.More are admitted to hospital for alcohol related injuries, than 16- 24 year olds.
Up to 1.4 million  older people are estimated to drink too much.In the past 5 years there has been an increase of 63% in alcohol related admissions to hospitals.This was revealed by the Substance Misuse and Aeging research team at the University of Bedfordshire.

10.Margaret Bell, who kept bees in Leintwardine about 7 miles from her home, died in June 1994.Soon after the funeral, mourners were astonished to see hundreds of bees settle on the corner of the street opposite the house where she had lived for twenty-six years.The bees stayed for  about one hour, and the local press took photos of them.
